Key findings from the Southern consultations - Top needs Conditionality Languages of the country where the project is implemented and of the country supporting the project Current and future aid commitment and disbursement Information on aid contractual processes and approval External and internal assessment reports How sites are selected and prioritized; criteria for selection and evaluation of projects Relationship between aid and human development indices International agreements; complete project documents/ contracts Updated information about aid flow and the implementing agencies Discussions/Negotiations before contracts are finalized/approved Project budget information vis. government budget

Transparency is a mean for: Ownership Accountability Participation 4 Transparency is a pre-condition

Support to local media and other education for development institutions 5 Transparency needs mediation

Transparency is far more than a mechanism or a technical issue. It bases the dialogue and builds trust among stakeholders 6 Transparency leads to dialogue and trust

The IATI is not a separate initiative. It builds an ISO standard, using existing transparency initiatives IATI is at least an action taken since Accra. Draft standard and Code of Conduct Policy people must talk to stats people! 7 Transparency needs standard
