FY14 Projects and Service Enhancements  Added electrical outlets around the exterior wall  Added a QuickPrint Station for quick printing needs  Implemented book and media delivery to WCC  Began work to rebuild the front desk to combine Reference and Circulation services  Collaborated with Distance Learning and Grant offices to circulate 10 laptops within the library and 22 ipads and 10 laptops outside the library for up to 7 days.  Switched from Ebrary to Ebsco eBooks package, for a cost savings of approximately $6,000.  Library Facebook Account reached 500 followers  Created 68 LibGuides to facilitate access to the Libraries resources for NWACC students and Faculty  Added 4 Mac’s with Adobe Software and scanners for graphic design and digital audio/video editing  Reviewed and weeded over 7k outdated books and media items  New Sunday Hours, 1pm-5pm

FY14 Projects and Service Enhancements Continued  Streamlined journal subscriptions and migrated to online format when available.  Library fee of $1.50/SSCH beginning in FY14  Awarded an NWACC Innovation Grant to do a needs assessement and purchase and build a basic circulating library for the Adult Education Center located in the Center for Non-Profits  Inventoried and moved the Culinary Collection back to the main campus from the Center for Non-Profits  Created Collection Development Guidelines  Created Collection Development Formula %20FY14.pdf %20FY14.pdf  Created a Library Liaison system to encourage communication between the library and faculty for library holdings that directly support the curriculum  Cataloged ASC Reserve Materials and implemented KOHA in the ASC

Reference Services

Reference Transactions Nationally, reference has been trending downwards with the growth of online resources, plus we no longer count Reserves and print system questions as reference. FY FY FY FY148047

Reference Assessment A brief survey of reference users conducted one week a year. Was the Librarian approachable /friendly? Yes-8/8 Do you feel the librarian understood what you needed? Yes-8/8 How well did the Librarian meet your needs? 7-Highly Satisfied, 1 Satisfied User Responses: “I feel like I better understand how to research topics and authors. I feel like a can maneuver databases on my own without much of a problem now.” “The librarian that helped me seemed to know exactly what i was needing for my research, he showed me how to use several databases and found several articles that are perfect for my paper.” “They are very friendly and they tried very hard to meet the students need.” “I have had to come to the library for the past few weeks researching for different papers, and both librarians have always been patient with my questions and stayed with me until they knew that they had answered my questions.” “I found the librarian very helpful, he didnt just look for the books i asked for, but asked what I wanted out of the books and helped me find comparable information. My only complaint was not with the librarian but the selection of materials.”

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan Services Relaxed borrowing/ lending policies with other libraries. From FY13 to FY14: 166% increase in materials borrowed from other libraries 338% increase in materials loaned to other libraries 56% reduction in items not loaned. FY10 FY11 FY12FY13 FY14

Fall FY14 Library Seat Count Work tables, computers, and group study rooms are the highest used seating

Fall FY15 Library Seat Count Work table use has grown to almost 100% occupancy at peak times, and group study rooms and computers are the 2 nd highest used seating

Library Instruction or Information Literacy

From FY08 to FY14, the number of library instruction sessions rose 145%.

From FY08 to FY14, the attendance at library instruction sessions grew 116%.

In FY12, the instruction program expanded to NWACC satellite campuses. In FY13, the Library began offering customized online instruction recordings.
