The goal of Doors to Diplomacy is to raise awareness about the importance of –international affairs and –diplomacy.

Doors to Diplomacy is a collaborative project, where small teams are formed consisting of 2 to 4 student members and up to 2 adult "coaches." Research can be conducted both online and offline, and then Findings are assembled to produce an educational web project. Students are also encouraged to become spokespersons for their projects

There are 3 phases in this competition Research and Publish Reflect and Record Evaluate and Discuss

1.Research and Publish Choose ONE category Conduct an original research project involving your selected topic Explain how your project raises awareness about diplomacy Publish your research findings as an educational Web project that teaches others about diplomacy Include a bibliography in which you cite your sources and document where your information came from

2.Project Narrative Each project also includes a Project Narrative –explains HOW the project has been organized, –show WHAT challenges the team faced –and HOW the challenges are overcome –how the project supported local content standards.

An outstanding project narrative tells an interesting story about your project and its impact upon student learning and within your community. shows how the project meets or exceeds objectives for both the Doors to Diplomacy contest and the category in which it's entered

3.Peer Review Participating teams must evaluate and submit reviews on four (or more) other projects (in categories that are different than theirs). The highest scoring entries in each category are submitted to our distinguished panel of international judges for final evaluation.
