No Child Left Behind  Supplemental Educational Services  Non-Regulatory Guidance  US Department of Education  January 14, 2009 

Purpose of SES  Provide additional academic instruction to increase academic achievement of students in schools in the second year of improvement  High quality and research based  Tutoring, remediation or other supplemental enrichment

Eligibility  Students from low income families that attend Title 1 schools regardless of their ELA or math scores  Free or Reduced lunch eligible

Notification  At least annually that the student qualifies for services and that the school is in need of improvement  Indicate reasons for designation  By mail  Website
