Data Sources Data on the number of livestock is collected annually by the Provincial and District Directorates of M o FAL through the SDN system The data on the number of animals milked are collected by the Province Directorates of M o FAL at district level as of yearend. Data Collection Methodology M o FAL is responsible for the identification and registration of bovine, ovine and caprine animals, thus for the collection of data on the livestock population of the country. Data on the number of livestock is collected annually by the Provincial and District Directorates of M o FAL through the SDN system. Data on the number of livestock is based on administrative records in the animal identification and registration databases, namely, TURKVET for bovine animals and the Sheep and Goat Registration System for ovine and caprine animals. Data Collection Methodology Livestock data is also partly available in some other administrative registers, including those for agricultural subsidies and vaccinations.
