 From two innovation grants Funding

 Access to resources whilst physically being in the field can help students to recognise the interdependence of theory and practice Resources in the field

 Second year Geography students have been given the opportunity to use mobile devices together with the software. Resources in the field

 FieldTrip GB app, developed by EDINA, to gather field data and create mapping data. Trials of the use of mobile technology in fieldwork activities was both successful and presented various challenges. Resources in the field

 Students reaction has been positive. Resources in the field

Oculus Rift  Could a VR device be used for preparing for a field trip.

Oculus Rift

 Not to replace field trips.
