Presentation transcript:

Purpose The reason we are doing this project is to find which soda 3 rd grade likes best. That way, when we have a party, we know what soda to buy. Hypothesis We think that Pibb Extra will win. We think that because most 3 rd graders like to drink it.

The Materials 54 Dixie cups 3 permanent markers 1 two liter bottle of Dr. Pepper 1 two liter bottle of Dr. Thunder A 12 pack of Pibb Extra (because we couldn’t find it in a 2 liter bottle) Napkins (in case of spills)

The Procedures First, you drive to the Wal-Mart in Vandalia Buy 2 two liter bottles of Dr. Thunder and Dr. Pepper and a 12 pack of Pibb Extra, and 54 Dixie cups. Then pay for it at the checkout. Store the soda in the refrigerator until needed. Count out 54 Dixie cups, and make 3 stacks of 18. Label one stack of 18 cups A. Label one stack of 18 cups B. Label on stack of 18 cups C. Pour Pibb Extra into the cups labeled A. Fill each cup about half-way.

The Procedures Pour Dr. Thunder into the cups labeled B. Fill each cup about half-way. Pour Dr. Pepper into the cups labeled C. Fill each cup about half-way. Give each student one of the cups labeled A, one of the cups labeled B, and one of the cups C. Ask the class to drink all 3, and decide which they liked the best. Have the class vote for which one they liked the best.

Graphed Results

Conclusion Our experiment turned out the way it did because our class thought Dr. Thunder was Pibb Extra, and they like it the best, so they voted for what they thought was Pibb Extra. Our hypothesis was that Pibb Extra would win, so we were wrong. If we were to do this experiment again, we would try 3 different types of soda.

Acknowledgements We would like to thank Ms. Lloyd, our teacher, who helped us with the experiment, our class for participating in our experiment, our parents for buying our supplies, and you, our judge, for judging today.
