P.E/PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT & MOVEMENT Children learn polite gestures and attitudes in different situations. LEARNING OUTCOMES Children learnt group and pair work. Children practiced their digital skills in working with the Internet. Children’s communicating skills were improved, both in their native language and in English. Children learnt the importance of being polite and having good manners in any society around the world. LEARNING ENVIRONMENT School LANGUAGE & LITERACY Children can communicate their knowledge in what regards good and bad manners in a variety of contexts using a great variety of means of communication: oral, facial expressions, body language. Children communicated in a variety of formats: reports, proverbs, sayings, stories, jokes, role-play. Children can use known vocabulary and learn new one while talking about good and bad manners, writing short dialogues on the subject, telling jokes and looking for proverbs and sayings on the subject of manners. Children’s English language skills were practiced through simple sentences, written or read, relevant to the subject. THE ARTS Children expressed their ideas, thoughts and feelings in works of art such as paintings and drawings, collages and others. THE WORLD AROUND US Children shared knowledge with their peers. They talked about manners in different countries and learnt that people all over the world are not that different. Children highlighted both the similarities and the differences in what regards manners in other countries and Romania. GOOD MANNERS A great variety of activities were done for this value. For instance, class 5A worked in groups to illustrate good or bad manners. They made some drawings and next presented them to their classmates in class and discussed them.

They also looked for sayings and proverbs about manners, which they read open- class. After that the most representative were written on the board.

This is how their board looked like at the end.

Class 2A performed a short play adapted from a famous Romanian short story called “Mr. Goe” by Ion Luca Caragiale, which is about a very naughty and ill mannered boy.

Class 2H learnt and exemplified different manners.

Class 8A worked in groups and talked about table manners. They watched short videos, had to do a quiz and learnt different ways of folding napkins.
