32/9/2014 PAR Title & Scope Suggestions Amendment Title: –IEEE Standard for Local and metropolitan area networks - Part 16: Air Interface for Fixed and Mobile Broadband Wireless Access Systems – Enhancements for Very High Network Throughput & Advanced Services Support Scope: –This standard amends the Advanced Air Interface Physical layer (PHY) and Medium Access Control Layer (MAC) to enable very high capacity networks for applications such as mobile video, and to enable emerging services such as machine-to-machine communications. It targets system throughput greater than 1 Gbps. Backward compatibility for Advanced Air Interface and legacy OFDMA equipment is maintained.
