Biological Psychology Biological psychology emphasizes the impact of biology on a persons behavior. They study the brain, nerve system, and genes and there affects on a person behavior Genetic factors and chemical imbalances, influence a wide range of human behaviors A psychobiologist is a psychologist that studies how physical and chemical changes in our body influence our behavior

Pros People can be treated with different medications to prevent the chemical imbalances in the brain. People realize that the illness is not made up, its for real. Doctors can come up with different treatments for different chemical imbalances.

Cons Medication might not always solve all the problems, it can be more then just a chemical imbalance. Once someone knows they have an illness they may take it to there advantage.

Wilder G. Penfield He studied how epileptic patients brains would react with an electric shock to prevent seizures. He also mapped out the human brain. His findings set the stage for wide spread research on the biological role in psychological phenomena.
