The Human Foot The human foot and ankle is a strong and complex mechanical structure containing more than 26 bones, 33 joints (20 of which are actively articulated), and more than a hundred muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Acupressure Points and Corresponding Structures

The Poses Tadasana w/Triangular Base Note plum lines and symmetry in front plane of body.

Tadasana Variation Note plum lines and symmetry in front plane of body.

Let the bones support you. and let gravity do the work. Key Muscles of Yoga by Ray Long

Practice w/feet together and w/ feet hip distance apart. Note the difference. Weight in your heels as you lean back into pelvis, axial extension-- meaning take curves out of spine. W/feet hip distance apart, place block between thighs and notice what happens.

Similarities between hand and foot

The Human Hand The hand has 27 bones, 14 of which are the phalanges (proximal, medial, and distal) of the fingers. The metacarpal is the bone that connects the fingers and the wrist. Each human hand has 5 metacarpals.
