Welcome to the Three- Contingency Model of Performance Management Workshow!

There are three separate (but related) contingencies in the model: The Ineffective Natural Contingency, The Performance Management (PM) Contingency, and the Inferred Theoretical Contingency. Let’s take a look:

This is the Three-Contingency Model Mary has given level of piano playing ability Mary practices for 30 minutes Mary has infinitesimally greater piano playing ability Ineffective Natural Contingency Mary will lose opportunity for discount on next piano lesson Mary practices for 30 minutes Mary will not lose opportunity for discount on next piano lesson Performance-Management Contingency Mary fears losing the opportunity for a discount Mary practices for 30 minutes Mary does not fear losing the opportunity for a discount Inferred Theoretical Contingency This is the naturally-occurring contingency that does not control behavior This is a direct-acting contingency that makes the PM Contingency work This indirect-acting contingency was designed to manage performance

CBPI Mission Statement: To improve the behavior analytic skills of undergraduate and graduate students and clarification of difficult concepts through the use of quality units of computer based programmed instruction. Main Page Main Page
