 Two days of excused absences are allowed  PROCEDURE Note from parent giving date and name of college/s to be visited – given to Mrs. Spiccia at least 24 hours in advance Student has teachers sign form from Mrs. Spiccia and then returns form to her at the end of the day

 It is a web-based resource specific to Mayfield High School that supports student career and college planning  It is used by the counseling staff to communicate with students and parents  It is used to process all college applications

 Begin with Naviance “Colleges I’m interested in” to “Colleges I’m applying to”  What type of application is required? Common Application/On-line Application via individual school site If there is a choice between Common App and the school’s application, you must use Common App.

Using Common App *Reminder: If you are applying to a Common App school, you MUST use the Common App!! Go to Set up your personal account/login. Complete a profile, add colleges, complete the application, upload essay, etc. Check to see if your colleges require supplements and/or fees and complete those. PROOFREAD all items before you submit. Be aware that once you hit ‘submit’ you will not be able to make changes to your application. Using the Online Application on the College Website To apply online go to that particular college’s website and follow directions to apply.  Complete the application, upload essay, etc.  Check for and pay fees.  PROOFREAD all items before you submit. Complete & send each application at least 2 weeks before any deadline.

 Log on to Naviance (Colleges I’m Applying To  “Have you applied?”  Find College  “I Have Submitted My Application”  Complete Transcript Request Form Bring form to Counseling Office  Mid-Year Reports  Final Transcripts
