By the time William was 13 years old, he lost both of his parents and was orphaned within his brothers and sister. William Wordsworth was born on April 7 th William had 4 siblings. 2 brothers and 2 sister. He was the 2 nd of the 5 children. His parents were John and Ann Wordsworth.

William died April 23 rd, William made his start in 1787 as a writer because he published a sonnet in The European Magazine. Then during that same year he attended St. Johns College in Cambridge and received has B.A. degree in 1791.

Its is about how a person experience of the world and their own interpretation of it, and not following the church's ideas as strong as they used to. Marked a time when rigid ideas about the structure and purpose of society and the universe were breaking down. Romanticism as a literary movement lasted from about 1789 to 1832.

He used his own Ideas and personal structures to create his poems these are the elements from the time period that paved the way to William Wordsworth’s greatness in poetry. Wordsworth was the quintessential poet as naturalist, always paying close attention to details of the physical environment around him.

The poem we picked by William Wordsworth is called My Heart Leaps Up. My heart leaps up when I behold A rainbow in the sky. So was it when my life began; So is it now I am a man; So be it when I grow old, Or let me die! The Child is father of the Man; And I could wish my days to be Bound each to each by natural piety.

The Rhyme Scheme of this poem is ABCCABCDD and it contains 9 lines. In this poem Wordsworth is saying that he is excited or moved by natures beauty from when he was born to when he wrote the poem. He states that if he stops seeing nature the way he sees it now then he would rather die. Then he says that he wishes that he could go back to his childhood self and that all children are superior to men because of the way they see the world.

This poem was written on March 26, 1802 and finally published in 1807.

He believes that children are closer to God which makes them closer to nature because they have just recently come out of the hands of heaven and god when they were born.

Piety- reverence for God; respect; fulfillment of religious obligations. Bound- to tie up; secured Behold-to observe; look at; see.
