“I Am” Poem I am me and just myself I pretend I don´t care about what they say. But I worry about what everyone thinks, and I get angry when I catch myself doing that. I hope, I hope, I hope, we always hope I understand hoping is not bad, but also I believe we should do more that that I say we should not try to change who we are I dream to be accepted as I am I am me and just myself I think some people don´t get it I hear them trying to change me I see people trying to be something else I want to be who I am, and just that

What is Poetry? The definition of poetry that I did in English class is: “Poetry is a way to say what no other branch of literature can.”

Poem Analysis I really like this poem called “O captain! My Captain” from Walt Whitman . I already knew this poem before this project from a movie. This poem is about a ship that gets to shore, but the captain died on the trip. The part I like more is: “My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will(18).”In the poem at the beginning you don´t notice that the captain is death, and this is the line where I realized he was. I think that it says father because the marine sees the captain as his father. After this part the mood of the poem becomes sadder and I like that. I like this poem because, as I already said, it appears on a move that I like; that movie is called “The dead poet society”.
