Robert Burns Wife ( in 1788 ) O, my love is like a red, red rose, That is newly sprung in June. O, my love is like the melody, That is sweetly played in tune. As fair are you, my lovely lass, So deep in love am I, And I will love you still, my Dear, Till all the seas go dry. Till all the seas go dry, my Dear, And the rocks melt with the sun! O, I will love you still, my Dear While the sands of life shall run. O, my love is like a red, red rose, That is newly sprung in June.

My heart’s in the Highlands, my heart is not here; My heart’s in the Highlands a chasing the deer; Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe- My heart’s in the highlands, wherever I go Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North, The birth-place of valour, the country of worth; Wherever I wander, wherever I rove, wherever The hills of the Highlands for ever I love. Farewell to the mountains high cover’d with snow; Farewell to the straths and green valleys below Farewell to the forests and wild hanging woods; Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods My heart’s in the Highlands, my heart is not here; My heart’s in the Highlands a chasing the deer; Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe- My hearts in the Highlands, wherever I go. In 1788 R. Burns returned to his loved SCOTLAND and wrote his famous poem and song MY HEART IN THE HIGHLANDS
