(DEN) provides Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) by Board Certified Physicians that determine medical necessity and appropriateness of treatment. DEN physicians assess injury and disability claims to help claim professionals manage their claims by ensuring that appropriate and quality treatment is being rendered.

Provider Credentialing Standard DEN, Inc., standard is to maintain a credentialed file for ALL providers whom we refer our IMEs and second opinions.

Physician Credentialing Process The following is obtained: Copy of State License Copy of DEA License (if applicable) Proof of Malpractice Coverage Board Certification Certificate (s) Curriculum Vitae Signed W-9 Credentialing is updated yearly

Request for IME IME Coordinator reviews information with account and determine appropriate physician Contact client to discuss Appointment with transportation needs Coordinate obtaining all medical records and diagnostic films and reports to be delivered to appointment physician. Follow-up with physician, claimant and transportation service to confirm scheduled appointment 24 hours prior. Obtain written report and review to determine that all information requested by account is addressed CC Letter to account within 24 hours of the scheduled Appointment. Schedule appointment Letter to Attorney when appropriate Letter developed and sent within 24 hours to notify claimant of schedule appointment On the day of appointment confirm with physician office that the claimant did attend. Contact physician to obtain verbal or fax results of IME upon completion of appointment. Determine when written report will be submitted with all information to office and update to account. If claimant does not attend appointment contact immediately to determine reason. Contact account to advise of missed appointment.
