2014 Revealed- in no particular order!

SV communicates A LOT of weekly information to our families, most through our website and phone messages! You can access monthly newsletters on our website: svs. fsusd.org Reminders: me if you are not receiving s at

SV is a K-8 elementary school with limited parking, which makes traffic a mess. We appreciate your help in making sure our kids get to school safely and following our traffic patterns that are already set up! If you do park to pick up your child please walk to pick them up in the front of the school. Students are not allowed to walk to you for safety reasons.

SV is COLLEGE CRAZY! It is our job to give our students the tools and foundation to go to college if they so choose! This is why every Wednesday is College Spirit Day and every classroom has “adopted” a college to learn about and love!

SV follows three school rules that we review with our students: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful! We strive to ensure that our students follow these throughout the day and are positively reinforced with Good News Referrals, Caught You Doing Right Cards, Dragon Awards and Praise!

SV follows the Common Core State Standards Students in grades 3 rd -8 th grade will be taking a computerized test called the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) in the spring 2015

SV students are leaders!! We have Little Dragon Helpers, Student Council, Conflict Managers, Morning Greeters, Peer Mentoring, Buddy Program Bullying? Other kids might be getting into a fight? Friend in trouble? You’re in trouble? Rachel’s Challenge - Kindness TALK TO AN ADULT

Our teachers collaborate on weekly test results, teaching practices, grouping students, interventions, enrichment, and more! COLLABORATION IS CRITICALTO OUR SUCCESS!!

SV LOVES parent involvement! From running groups, to copying, to volunteering in the classroom, to helping with Parent Club events … WE LOVE IT ALL!

We are committed to creating a school that gives every student the right to achieve

Every No Excuses University has a well-defined process for identifying and creating the following exceptional systems: Culture of Universal Achievement Collaboration Standards Alignment Assessment Data Analysis Interventions In addition, every No Excuses University campus works diligently to expose students to powerful college symbolism.
