Airport Check-in 1 Passenger: Good morning. Is this the check-in for BA113 to Paris? Clerk: It is. Can I see your ticket? Passenger: Sure, here you are. Clerk: Thank you. Can you put your suitcases on the baggage scales? Three cases. Hmmm. They’re a bit heavy. You’ll have to pay an excess baggage charge. Passenger: Oh dear. What’s the weight limit?

Airport Check-in 2 Clerk: Thirty kilos on this flight. And you have nearly forty kilos. Passenger: How much do I have to pay them? Or can I take this one on as hand baggage (carry- on luggage)? Clerk: I suppose so if you put your bag inside it. Passenger: Ok. Yes, it fits. Clerk: Now, would you like an aisle seat or a window seat? Passenger: Could I have an aisle seat, please? Clerk: Of course. Seat 15C. Here’s your boarding pass.

Receptionist: We have a single room available. How long will you be staying? Jenny: I’ll be staying for three nights. How much for a single?

Hotel Reservation 3 Receptionist: Forty dollars excluding tax. Jenny: That’s pretty good. I think I’ll take that. Receptionist: That’s no problem. And your name please? Jenny: Jenny Smith. Receptionist: All right. Your confirmation number is 102.

Reservation for a Restaurant 1 A: I’d like to book a table for four adults and one child at six this evening. I’d like seats near the window. Can you arrange that for us? Receptionist: a table for four and one child, near the window. That’s no problem, ma’am. A: Ok. Do you accept credit cards? Receptionist: Yes, ma’am. All major cards are welcomed. And your name please? A: Taylor, Taylor Swift.

Reservation for a Restaurant 2 Receptionist: The table will be set up for you. As the restaurant is very busy during the dinner time, we will reserve the table for you for 15 minutes only. Please do arrive on time. A: We will. Thanks.

Ordering 2 A: Well, you don’t offer free soft drinks, do you? Waiter: I’m sorry, ma’am. But we have mineral water. We charge an extra 30 cents for water. A: Ok. I’ll have the chef special and mineral water for 2. Waiter: And for dessert? A: I’ll have an apple pie, and a piece of cheese cake. Waiter: Cheese cake and apple pie. Right away.

Dining & Billing Waiter: How do you find your steak, sir? A: I’ve never had such a delicious steak before. (undercooked/overcooked) Waiter: I’m glad you love it. Permit me to pour you a glass of something. It’s on the house. A: well, thank you. A: Waiter, could you please bring me the check? (The bill, please?) Waiter: Yes, sir. Here you are. A: Great. Thanks a lot.
