Confidentiality & Consent 18 year olds are “adults” in Virginia –Protected by privacy and confidentiality statutes –May consent to any treatment Parental consent needed for minors except as provided by law For 18 year olds (and minors for certain conditions) we need written or verbal permission to speak with a parent.
