Air Quality in Hong Kong Presentation to show what the air is like in Hong Kong.

Air Quality  When you look out of the window, you probably wonder why the sky may be so hazy at times. This is because many pollutants are in the air.

 The dense population, smoke-belching factories and power stations are the cause for dangerous levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). What is causing the pollution (continued)

Affects  The main causes of Hong Kong’s air pollution are oil- and coal-fired power stations and vehicle exhaust emissions.

How can we solve the problem?  We can solve the problem by:  Working with government and stakeholders to find practical solutions  Educating the public on the importance of air pollution to their own health and wealth

Health risks with polluted air  Air Pollution Level Health Implications 0 – 25 Low/None. No health risks expected.  26 – 50 Medium/None. No health risks for the general population.

Health risks with polluted air (Continued)  51 – 100 High/Acute. Effects are not expected but effects may be happen if one is continued to be exposed to pollution levels.

Other effects · 79 percent of tourists saw that Hong Kong's attractiveness to foreign investors will drop in the future, given the pollution in the environment. END
