Welcome to digital photography What is a photoblog? What are some examples of photoblogs? How do different photoblogs compare to one another? What do I need to know about photo blogs to be successful in MEDT 7466?

Photoblogs A photoblog is a Web based tool used to store and share digital photos Must have a Web browser & Internet connection Photos can be uploaded and organized into collections and sets

Photoblogs Blogs are text oriented while photoblogs focus on visual images Features will vary such as the ability to search through titles and tags to help locate specific photos

Photoblogs The photoblog owner manages sharing –Private or public Provide copyright information to viewers Many photoblogs offer free hosting and/or paid subscriptions

Photoblogs Options vary –Add titles –Add tags that describe photos and aid in searching and locating images – tags are like keywords –Add geotags that pinpoint the location on a map where the photo was created –Comments can be added by viewers
