Lesson 7 : The Chromatic Scale

What is a Scale?? A series of sequential pitches spanning one octave.

What is a Scale?? A series of sequential pitches spanning one octave. This is also true for the Chromatic Scale.

Intervals : ALL Half Steps The Chromatic Scale is made entirely of Half Steps! No matter which 2 notes you play it’ll sound like “Jaws”.

General Rule : The Chromatic Scale uses sharps # going up… … and flats b going down……. Well….. Usually….

What’s “Enharmonic”?? Why is the black key missing??!!??

Chromatic Scale Features & Benefits Features : –Comprised of Half Steps. –Makes you THINK. –You must know ALL of your fingerings to play it! –Chromatic sequences are found in music you will play! Benefits : –You’ll add another scale to your musical knowledge. –You won’t need a fingering chart anymore! –You will understand what “Enharmonic” means. ….and you’ll be one step closer to learning how to play “Flight of the Bumble Bee”!
