ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIOMN

MEAANING OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS The term telecommunication means communication at a distance. The word data refers to information presented in whatever form is agreed upon by the parties creating and using the data. Data communications are the exchange of data between two devices via some form of transmission medium such as a wire cable.

has transformed the way that people communicate in the business world. According to Evolt, a website featuring technological information, is a commonly preferred method of communication in the workplace because people can send mass messages at one time. ing enhances efficiency because it is quick to send and quick to respond to, and you can even include attachments that are essential to the subject being discussed in the conversation. conversations can be between two or more people, and these types of discussions often replace the need for formal meetings since decisions can be made in this forum

Teleconferencing Teleconferencing is another method of business communication that is commonly employed in the workplace. Communicating through a telephone conferencing system is an effective way of conducting business when people are not able to attend a meeting in person. Attending a meeting via teleconference also saves people from accumulating travel expenses since they can call into the teleconference right from their office.

Video Conferencing Video conferencing is similar to teleconferencing in that the attendees do not have to travel anywhere to participate in the meeting. But unlike teleconferencing, a video conference allows you to see people through a TV screen or computer monitor. Furthermore, this is a two-way process, so all participants can see each other. Video conferencing requires the use of special video equipment, so you may need to check with your technology department to determine if it is something your company is capable of doing.

Instant Messaging Instant messaging allows one-on- one interaction with people who are miles away from us. Advanced computer technology and popularity of Internet usage has made it possible to use Instant Messengers and communicate with people who are located very far from us, without any hassles. With the help of instant messengers like Windows live messenger, Skype messenger, Gmail chat or AOL Instant Messenger, we can directly send message or chat with our friends, relatives and acquaintances, without spending a dime.

Video Chat Development of web cameras has added a momentum to electronic communication. With the help of a web camera and video chatting applications, you can not only interact with a person, you can also see with whom you are communicating. Web cams need to be attached as an external device to the computer. You may also use an external program like Gmail, Skype or Windows Live video chat to make a video conversation possible.

Blog Blogging is currently one of the most preferred ways of communicatingopenly. Blogging is a kind of online journaling that helps people speak their mind and also keep in touch with friends and family. Blogs are updated on daily basis, at times, several times a day and covers details about a person’s life and interest. Blogging can also be about a specific topic or niche. Eg,

Social Networks Social Networks allow people to form communities and keep in touch with each other, share updates, follow developments in each other lives, share pictures and send messages. There are several social networking websites such as Facebook, MySpace, Linked In and Twitter where people can register, create an account and start communicating with businesses, family and friends, celebrities and others.
