THE ORGANIC LEGISLATION AND THE RULES IN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU) SINCE ON LAST January 1 ST 2009 IS IN FORCE THE NEW EC REGG. 834/07, 889/08 AND 1235/08, THESE NEW LEGISLATION HAS SUBSTITUTED THE OLD EEC REG 2092/91. THE REQUIREMENTS EACH OPERATOR HAS TO BE CONTROLLED AND CERTIFIED, FROM SEEDS TO DISTRIBUTION, BY AN AUTHORIZED CERTIFICATION BODY. EACH OPERATOR HAS TO BE CONTROLLED AND CERTIFIED, FROM SEEDS TO DISTRIBUTION, BY AN AUTHORIZED CERTIFICATION BODY. ALL OPERATIONS HAVE TO BE CONTROLLED (FARMING, HUSBANDRY, PROCESSING, DISTRIBUTING AND LABELLING) IN ORDER TO VERIFY THE COMPLIANCE WITH THE ORGANIC LEGISLATION. ALL OPERATIONS HAVE TO BE CONTROLLED (FARMING, HUSBANDRY, PROCESSING, DISTRIBUTING AND LABELLING) IN ORDER TO VERIFY THE COMPLIANCE WITH THE ORGANIC LEGISLATION. EACH OPERATOR HAS TO DESCRIBE, TO THE CERTIFICATION BODY (CB) AND TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITY, IN AN APPLICATION FORM AND IN THE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS THE COMPANY AND THE ACTIVITIES MADE BY THE COMPANY. EACH OPERATOR HAS TO DESCRIBE, TO THE CERTIFICATION BODY (CB) AND TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITY, IN AN APPLICATION FORM AND IN THE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS THE COMPANY AND THE ACTIVITIES MADE BY THE COMPANY. EVERY YEAR THE OPERATOR HAS TO BE CONTROLLED AT LEAST ONE TIME. EVERY YEAR THE OPERATOR HAS TO BE CONTROLLED AT LEAST ONE TIME. THE OPERATOR HAS TO UPDATE ALL INFORMATIONS TO THE CB AND TO RECEIVE BY IT THE UPDATED CERTIFICATE. THE OPERATOR HAS TO UPDATE ALL INFORMATIONS TO THE CB AND TO RECEIVE BY IT THE UPDATED CERTIFICATE.

THE REQUIREMENTS THE CB CAN TAKE SOME SAMPLES WHEN IT SUSPECTS THAT THE OPERATOR COULD USE NOT ADMITTED SUBSTANCES. THE ORGANIC PRODUCTS THAT COME FROM THIRD COUNTRIES (NOT EU) HAVE TO BE EQUIVALENT WITH THE EU LEGISLATION.
