Leadership: Session #2A

Exemplary leaders are interested in others’ success than in their own. Their greatest achievements are the triumphs of those they serve. Knowing they have made a difference in others’ lives is what motivates their own, giving leaders the strength to endure the hardships, struggles, and inevitable sacrifices required to achieve great things. Leaders who see their role as serving others leave the most lasting legacies. Kouzes and Posner, A Leader's Legacy, 2006

PRIME Equity Leadership: Data Wall Identify the top three actions across the three Equity Leadership Principles that you are currently engaged in as a leader. Place each red dot above a different action indicator. (We will create a bar graph.)

PRIME Equity Leadership: Data Wall Trends? Questions? Comments? We will revisit the data wall at the end of the day to consolidate our learning and consider next steps for leadership action.

Improvement Planning Action: The Big Picture

School Improvement Planning Using the sample SIP for Mathematical Literacy template provided, place each cut-out piece in the appropriate column. The corresponding BIP is provided for your reference.

School Improvement Planning Which piece(s) did you find easiest / most difficult to place? Why? Did anything surprise you about the contents of the pieces? What connections did you make to your SIP or those SIP’s that you are supporting? Which Equity Leadership action indicators are evident (explicitly or implicitly) within the sample SIP?

What does it look like when a group OWNS the goal? –Stephen Covey video: GOAL! 19 School Improvement Planning
