Project Summary Being a young visual artist, creative thinking, aesthetic sense and the ability to appreciate are essential. In addition to these qualities, “V.AI” will equip them with social awareness. The objective of this project is to promote collaboration and to strengthen the impact of knowledge transfer by engaging secondary school visual arts students, and to encourage communication between different parties including social services organization and commercial enterprises. The final exhibition of the project aims to promote visual arts culture to the general public. Participants will take part in a day camp and prepare for the exhibition which will V. AI V. AI Project Leader Dr. Victor Lai Academy of Visual Arts External Partner help students, schools and parents to recognize students’ potentials and, most importantly, how art making can be beneficial to community and even world-wide and go beyond the scope as mere interest or leisure. As both a renowned venue provider and an art advocate, K11 will work hand in hand with Academy of Visual Arts and Visual Arts Axis in promoting visual arts.K11 Visual Arts Axis 視藝薈 Visual Art Axis

Tangible Outcomes & Deliverables  Visual documentation of (i) the seminars and workshops (ii) the mentoring programme (iii) pre-exhibition preparation (iv) the exhibition  Artwork/Design submitted by secondary school students and AVA student artists for research and thought exchange V. AI V. AI

Intangible Outcomes & Deliverables  The final works exhibited in K11 will be sold and the revenue generated will be donated to Japan for earthquake relief. Through these events, the secondary school students are given an opportunity to create marketable artworks and design, which enables them to rethink the role of art, artwork and its relationship with (public) space as well as the public.  AVA, K11 and student participants will learn more about the art scene locally and regionally, as well as its potential in Hong Kong. Intangible Outcomes & Deliverables  Both secondary school students and AVA students will gain experience and knowledge of curation and curatorship, as well as its significance towards artwork dissemination and promotion.  It will raise community awareness on cross cultural exchange among secondary school students and the public.  AVA students will have a better grasp of art and its connection to education and commercial sectors.
