Describe the main industrial policies or competition policies (compulsory) 4. Focus on a policy you consider significant for the development or the growth of the country 5. Excluded countries: Finland, China, Argentina, Asian Tigers, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada, (South) Korea, Norway, India 4

1. Choose any industry you prefer, reference to any official classification is not obligatory (however in this way it is more difficult: look at the following point) 2. Show the main performance within the sector, in terms of sales, technology, successful or failing firms, global value chains 3. Describe and analyze one global value chain 4. The sector can be analyzed at an international, national or even local level: you choose 5. Excluded sectors: Pharmaceutical, port systems, cruise ship industry, Italian fruit & vegetable sector, pay-tv 5

1. Choose an Italian or foreign firm: it must have an Internet site showing economic information (Fortune or Mediobanca or other sources) 2. Show the main performance of the firm, in terms of sales, technology, internationalization, global value chains, stock market value 3. Analyze what is provided by journals 4. If it is possible, add an interview 5. Excluded firms:  Unicredit, Barilla, Embraer, Decathlon, Zara 6

 Each group has people  The maximum is 8 presentations  They must inform the teacher in the period 20 th -30 th October about the chosen issue (that however must be approved) and about the composition (i.e. the names of the students involved)  The group has to send the slides to the teacher before the presentation (to allow him to know the issues and to pose questions)  Each issue has to treated at two levels: a) presentation b) discussion with other students, in hours out of the lessons (see the calendar) 7 Rules

 The group has no more than 60 minutes to show the results of its analysis by slides; the discussion with the colleagues and with the teacher occur in the other 60 minutes  The mark (up to 3/30 as a maximum) depends on the presentation and on the replies during the discussion. The mark can be differentiated within the group, so that people can receive different marks  The presentation mark is added to the mark obtained in the written papers 8
