Stop Smoking Services Vicki Wash Advanced Public Health Officer

Specification Overview Lot 3a: Stop Smoking Service Provision Level 2 Service : multi-session interventions (weekly support, initially face to face, can also include telephone support). Flexible Training Packages Record Outcome on Service Database Attendance at yearly training updates Lot 3b: Supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) The supply of NRT in accordance with the Protocol for direct supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy by Competent non- Clinical Advisors of the Stop Smoking Service in Norfolk.

Key Points Changes to specifications; To focus on: o Quit Outcomes (encourages follow up) o Quality Service Provision o Improved access to NRT To address the issues of disparity of terms between: o Providers: e.g. GP and Pharmacies o Geography: i.e. the former PCT areas of Norfolk and Gt Yarmouth & Waveney.

Changes to Payments Proposal that payments terms are changed, i.e. increase in payments for quits, encourage flexible follow up. Lot 3a: Quarterly payment for successful 4 week quit (entered on database)* £80 per quit (CO verified or self report quit) * No payment for quits entered after Q4 deadline Lot 3b: Quarterly reimbursement of NRT (Drug Tariff Cost) plus 5% VAT £2 per item type dispensed Minus prescription costs collected Claims to be made electronically
