AP SUMMIT
Slim Dusty - Looking Forward Looking Back Looking forward, looking back I’ve come a long way down the track Got a long way left to go Making songs, from what I know Making sense of what I’ve seen All the love we’ve had between You and I, along the track Looking forward, looking back There are strange days Full of change on the way But we’ll be fine, unlike some I’ll be leaning forward, to see what’s comingsongslove Looking forward, looking back I’ve come a long way down the track Got a long way left to go Making songs, from what I know If I’m alone at night, I can see Through all the triviality Of the day and I’m okay I just think of those who are dear to me Looking forward, looking back I’ve come a long way down the track Got a long way left to go Making songs, from what I know Making songs, from what I know Looking forward, looking back [From his album: "Looking Forward, Looking Back" Contributed: Marten Busstra 2009]album

Common be our prayer Common be our end Common be our purpose Common be our deliberations Common be our desires Unified be our hearts Unified be our intentions 1 st AP committee meeting held 1971 Sangam
Common Issues for AP in 1971 MEMBERSHIP – low percentage of available girls in the community Drop out in Ranger Age group Lack of Administrative training in MOs Lack of funds Economic pressures Lack of Commissioners/Volunteers Effect of political situations in countries
Exciting things …are still happening Some MOs growing membership More young people involved in decision making in MOs Relationship and partnerships with other NGOs growing. Opportunities provided by Centenary Attendance of girls and National Leaders at Summit
WAGGGS/AP Challenges 2009 Future Sustainability Membership retention & recruitment; succession planning Funding - Reliance on quota + economic climate Support from MOs to achieve goals determined in agreed Strategic Plan Changing face of volunteers Lack of nominations for committees etc. Internal conflict in MOs resulting in power struggles in national leadership Political uncertainty in some MOs Competition from other youth providers Relevance of Girls Program Training of adults volunteers & staff
