What is Digital Storytelling ? ● Telling or summarizing stories using digital tools ● Can be teacher created stories or student created stories ● Simple and effective way to give everyone a voice ● Collaborativ e

Key elements ● Told in first person ● Represents a personal perspective ● Starts with something to draw the viewer in ● Succinct (think 1-2 minutes) ● Images and sound provide deep meaning to the story

Educational Uses ● Classroom story o think of a digital format instead of butcher paper ● Personal narratives o student of the week, field trip reports… ● Historical events from a personal perspective ● Introduction of background material o vocal, context, review,... ● Assessment of student learning
