Hypothesis If fisherman overfish blue crabs then the number of blue crabs will decrease.

Fishing Game To test our hypothesis we played a game, where you have goldfish, and you use a straw to suck them up and drop them into your cup. For each fish still left in the tray, you add another fish for reproduction. After 2 seasons some groups got a spoon to represent better fishing tools.

What happened in the fishing game We wanted our fishery to be sustainable so we made rules Some rules were about how many fish we could catch and others were about what kind of fishing tools we were allowed to use The rules for fishing in real life are very important to the blue crab and other animals in the Chesapeake

What Can We Do to Help? To try and stop the overfishing of blue crabs, here are some ideas on how to help: 1) Don’t eat blue crabs all the time and encourage your friends to do the same. 2)Follow all fishing rules. 3)If you do order crab, don’t waste it. Eat it all so it doesn’t go to waste.
