PSAT/SAT Vocabulary The Frayer Model is a visual organizer that helps students understand key words and concepts. The Frayer Model is a chart with four sections which can hold a definition, some characteristics/facts, examples and non-examples of the word/concept. Journal writing allows you to express your thoughts, feelings, and observations about a variety of topics. You may write whatever you want in response to the journal topic. HOW TO COMPLETE THE DIFFERENT BELL RINGERS

Analyzing Visuals To analyze a visual, you are going to use a strategy called SOAPS – T – TONE. As you review the visual, you will provide answers to the following S – Subject O – Occasion (time & place) A – Audience (the readers to whom this is directed) P – Purpose (the reason) S – Speaker (the voice telling the story) T – Techniques (color, balance, grouping, focus, etc…) Tone – Tone (the attitude of the author) HOW TO COMPLETE THE DIFFERENT BELL RINGERS

Editing On editing days I will provide you with a paragraph with at least ten built-in errors of basic spelling, grammar, punctuation, or capitalization. It is your job to write the words correctly on your paper, by making the appropriate corrections.
