People & Places Achievements Community Houses –May 2009 – Opening of the Marios Tinenti Centre, Peel Drive. Substantial reduction in crime and disorder; increase in community engagement. –2nd ‘community flat’ on Warwick Way to open mid May 2010.

People & Places Achievements Partnership Working –Strengthened working with key partners (Police; CNH; Voluntary Sector and Communities). –Improved Neighbourhood Management process Community Engagement –9 Ward Walks completed –Successful Partnership Action Weeks including environmental clean ups, information events and community lead social events. –Continued development of local residents groups across the priority neighbourhoods

People & Places CASE STUDY Cherie awarded H.O. Community Crime Fighter of the Year Award A 40% reduction in ASB CRAVE Survey shows community had lowest confidence in Police and Local Authority across the North BCU and is now the Highest Level of confidence across Leicestershire Force area

Community Safety Partnership Case Study Burglary Reduction Campaign Covert Police operations in hotspots Advertising – An intensive advertising campaign which included a trailer emblazoned with the slogan “lock it or lose it” which went around the hotspot areas Door knocking - Members of the Charnwood Community Safety Partnership went door to door providing crime prevention leaflets and property marking pens Over the 6 month period from September 2009 until March 2010 the burglary rate went from 42% to 9.9%

Actions –A workshop was held for all Charnwood Together members and produced a ‘Top 10’ table of risks was created. –Parish Councils host open meetings on a climate change/sustainability theme of their choice. Key Partner Achievements –The achievements of individual partner organisations in relation to climate change have been reported through the ‘Carbon Capture’ report Transport –A consultation with key stakeholder organisations on their Green Travel Plans. The aim of this is to establish benchmark of performance, share best practice and identify opportunities for joint working Energy Reduction and Recycling/ Renewable Energy –The emphasis of this group is influencing business. Business forums approached have expressed interest in forming a business resource efficiency club. –A business event is being planned for autumn Climate Change Achievements

Economic, Growth & Learning Achievements Loughborough Town Centre –Successful programme of Christmas events, –A Loughborough “BID” Project Manager –A decision on the funding of the Inner Relief Road is awaited –Talks continue with redevelopment of the Baxter Gate/Aumberry Gap site East Loughborough Regeneration –Housing and link road due to start on site in summer –Improvements to Loughborough Station –Proposals for hotel and retail being pursued –Greater GCR study complete. –Windmill Road Greenhouse looking at funding sources

AstraZeneca Closure –Partner Task Force led by EMDA –An Economic Impact Assessment has been commissioned –Working with Prospect Leicestershire to develop a local Action Plan Loughborough University –Close working with the University and others on the preparation for 2012 and the Olympic Legacy –First phase of the Loughborough Science Park being pursued by the University through the planning and procurement processes Loughborough Branding –Partner project led by Leicester Promotions Ltd with University, Chambers of Trade and Commerce, Town Centre Partnership –Initial consultation complete, wider public consultation shortly Policy Review –New employment land allocations will be pursued through the LDF process –Review of Economic Development Strategy underway Economic, Growth & Learning Achievements

Children & Young People Achievements Establishment of Charnwood Partnership for Children and Families delivery group Children’s Centre Programme –Partnership agreed priorities and commissioned services in 09/10 which are delivered in and from the 6 Children Commissioning Budget –2009/10 budget = £840,000 –Predicted spend = £742,284 The programmes funded have resulted in the following attendance figures: –Parent/carers – 7,567 –Under fives – 9,800 –Total 17,267

Children & Young People Achievements 5 to 19’s funding –Funded 17 diverse initiatives funding. –Practitioners day –Development of Integrated Youth Support Services. –Appointment of Children and Young People’s Strategic Co-ordinator Leicestershire District Implementation Group, have developed a District Council Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults Policy

Children & Young People Achievements Positive Activities for Young People and Regional Improvement and Efficiency Programme funding, both aimed at reducing anti-social and criminal behaviour amongst year olds is delivered in conjunction with the Charnwood Youth Council.

Partnership Development Achievements The group established and funded the Happening in Charnwood events website –Content continues to increase through Leicestershire Villages and Charnwood Arts Communications –Development of communications template and Partnership Communications Group to support CT Exec.

Health & Wellbeing Achievements Health and Well-being Awards –Recognition of organisations who promote healthy life styles amongst their employees. Part of a County wide scheme relating to LAA health and well being outcomes. Work in priority neighbourhoods –Supporting deployment of First Contact –Supporting an ‘Active Together’ project –Project with North West Leicestershire and PCT to run WELL FAMILIES CLINICS targeting key health issues.

Health & Wellbeing Achievements Responded to consultations on; –East Midlands Ambulance Service Foundation Trust –NHS Leicestershire county and Rutland Re-organisation - Transforming Community Services –The Community Health Service Review Project - Walk-in Centre and Loughborough Hospital Become “parent body“ for: –Charnwood Sports and Active Recreation Alliance Reviewed priorities against: –NHS Leicestershire county and Rutland Inequality Strategy and Action plan ( ) Drew attention to and promoted use by the PCT of: –Outstanding funding to healthcare attached to Section 106 Agreements
