Overview What is a healthcare robot? How does it work? How does it affect peoples life? How does it affect business applications?

What is Toyota’s Healthcare Robot? Series of robots to assist disabled people –Toyota Partner Robot Series Independent Walk Assist Patient Transfer Assist Robot Suit

How does it work? Independent Walk Assist – Mechanical exoskeleton for peoples legs – uses computer sensors to help people suffering from paralysis or other ailments to walk again. Patient Transfer Assist – machine with padded arms that can help health care workers lift disabled patients from their beds and then carry them around Robot Suit – Worn as a normal suit – aimed at helping people achieve mobility after suffering a stroke or accident.

How Does It Affect Peoples Lives? “Toyota endeavors to provide the freedom of mobility to all people…there is a strong need for robots in the field of nursing and healthcare” Assists sick and injured to return to health by providing them with the mobility they need Reduces physical burden on caregivers

How does it affect business applications? Assisting disabled people in the workplace Robots and computers will be moving in greater mass into the workforce
