Exotic Species Solutions Avoid more introductions.

Exotic Species Solutions: pesticides In the past, the main way to control pests was pesticides. Pesticides are powerful chemical poisons designed to kill problem organisms.

Exotic Species Solutions: biological control In the mouse and owl lab we observed how a natural enemy (predator) can control a population.

Exotic Species Solutions: biological control By using a natural enemy, humans can control the population of exotic species. Ladybug beetles eat aphids. Aphids destroy plants by piercing and then sucking out plant sap.

Exotic Species Solutions: biological control Biological control offers a more ecologically sound method of controlling problem species.
