Kingdom - Plantae.
Plant Notes- Kingdom Plantae
What is a plant?  Nearly all plants are autotrophs, meaning they make their own food. They are also called producers.  All plants are eukaryotes.  All.
Kingdom Plantae.
 Eukaryotic  Multicellular  Producers  Have chlorophyll for photosynthesis.

KINGDOM PLANTAE Unit 2 - Biodiversity. Kingdom Characteristics  Multicellular  Eukaryotic  Cell walls made of cellulose.  Autotrophic (photosynthesis)
The Plant Kingdom SOL 5.5: Kingdoms of Living Things.
The Kingdom Plantae  This kingdom is composed of multicellular, eukaryotic autotrophes.
PLANT KINGDOM EUKARYOTIC MULTICELLULAR ORGANISMS. PHOTOSYNTHETIC ALWAYS WITH ROOT, STEM AND LEAVES.
Plant Reproduction All plants are eukaryotic, multicellular and reproduce both sexually and asexually.
Kingdom - Plants. What are the characteristics of all members of the Plant Kingdom? Eukaryotic Autotrophic Can go through Photosynthesis Multicellular.
Kingdom Plantae.
Plants. Teaching Point #1 Almost all plants are autotrophic, eukaryotic and have cell walls.
Kingdom Plantae. Kingdom Plantae Characteristics Multicellular Cell Wall Present Autotrophs Sessile Sexual and Asexual Reproduction Kingdom Plantae.
The World of Plants KINGDOM PLANTAE. What is a Plant: Plant Characteristics EUKARYOTIC – has a nucleus MULTICELLULAR– more than one cell AUTOTROPHIC –
PLANT KINGDOM.  What Is a Plant?  Plants are multicellular, autotrophic eukaryotes that have cell walls made of cellulose.  Plants develop from multicellular.
Plants Characteristics of Plants All are multicellular Autotrophs (make own food by photosynthesis); few are carnivorous Cells are eukaryotic and have.
Plants Kingdom Plantae. Plant Characteristics Eukaryotic and multicellular Autotrophs = make own food by photosynthesis – Some are carnivorous Have cell.
Plant Notes:. Plants: Multicellular eukaryotes Cell walls of cellulose Autotrophic (photosynthesis)  Carbon dioxide + water + light Oxygen + glucose.
CHARACTERISTICS Eukaryotic cell Autotrophic nutrition (photosynthesis) Multicellular organisms. Reproduction: Asexual (spores or fragments ) Sexual (seeds)
Plants. Plant Characteristics Plants are multi-cellular eukaryotes that produce their food through photosynthesis. (Autotrophs) In addition, many plants.
PLANTS. CLASSIFICATION AND CHARACTERISTICS Domain: Eukarya (has eukaryotic cells) Kingdom: Plantae (cell wall with cellulose)
Introduction to Plants. Five Plant Characteristics   Plants are multicellular eukaryotes.   Plants are autotrophs containing chloroplasts for photosynthesis.
Kingdom Plantae Main Characteristics Cells contain a nucleus Make their own food Cells contain a cell wall Multicellular Can not move from place to place.
Plant Kingdom Plants are eukaryotic multicellular organisms. They are also photosynthetic.
Plant Phyla. Plants  Eukaryotic  Multicellular  Autotrophic  Chloroplasts, cell wall, Vacuoles.

Reproductive Mechanism Sexual- The stamen produces pollen, the pollen comes in contact with the stigma (tip of pistil) and it moves down to the ovary. – Called pollination Asexual- stems arch over and take root at their tips to form new plants, mitosis along leaf sides creates tiny plants that fall off into a new plant, separation of parts from the original plant

Cell Info Mostly multicellular Cell wall of cellulose

Subgroups of Plantae: Gymnosperms – Cone bearing plants – Needle like leaves – Mostly in Northern Hemisphere forests and Southern Hemisphere tropics Angiosperm – Produce seeds for reproduction – Common in smaller plants, flowering plants, and trees

Feeding Mechanism of Plantae: Autotrophs! – They get their energy from the sun and atmospheric gases and create their own food. Photosynthesis Vascular tissues are used to transport water and nutrients throughout the plant.

Plantae Characteristics: Cell walls of cellulose Chloroplasts No locomotion Composed of root stem, and leaf

Examples of Plantae: Mosses Ferns Conifers Flowering plants Trees
