Therefore, this event probably happens before healing of Naaman (2 Kings 5:27) I think chapter 8 begins by letting us know that the miracles of Elisha have had an impact in both Israel and Syra/Aram….Ben-hadad may have learned about Elisha after the healing of Naaman. Why does the king of Israel want to know all the great things Elisha has done? How does Ben-hadad know to send for the man of God?

The Arameans/Syrians would do great harm to Israel which makes Elisha upset.

The Execution (2 Kings 9:14-10:28) Joram is killed in Jezreel (9:14-26) Remembers the word of the Lord (9:25-26) Ahaziah is chased and killed (9:27-28) Hiding in Samaria? Attempting to hide in Samaria? (2 Chr 22:7-9) Jezebel is killed (9:30-37) Jehu said, “This is the word of the Lord…” Who kills Joram? Jehu (9:24) Who killed Ahaziah? Jehu and his men? (9:27)…There is a question about the order of when Ahaziah was killed. He may have been killed after Jezebel and his relatives. Lightfoot takes this position Jezebel painted her eyes to entice Jehu to take her as his wife. Jehu did not fall for her enticement.
