Preparing Mountaineers for College

 NMHS partners with GACHE in 2010/2011 to expand our program to develop a college going culture within the school in an effort to increase the college-going rate.

 We are part of the Appalachian District  The drop out rate for MCHS in 2009 was 3.6% (2008 – 7.6%)  The graduation rate for MCHS in 2009 was 70.8% (2008 – 62.1%)  Unemployment Rate – 12% (November 2009)  Median Income per Family - $42,155 (2000 Census)

North Murray staff gathered in August to participate in professional learning to develop strategies to implement a “college-going culture”. The professional learning was prompted by the school’s mission/vision …to expose our students to opportunities that foster success and develop skills that will ensure career and college readiness.
