World Conference, July 2014 Hong Kong Incorporation: World Board authorized to progress registration with Charity Commission Transfer of assets and undertaking of WAGGGS from existing unincorporated association to new CIO structure Quota/Membership Fees: Alternative method of calculating membership fees implemented No increase in membership fees applied in as result of membership growth In 2015, WB explore alternative funding sources to reduce dependence on quota Conference Fee Structure: Wealth Bands to determine fees for 36 th World Conference 33% discount on fee payable by delegates/observers under 30 (up to max of 4 participants per MO) Fifth World Centre: Funds to be raised for development work in to define financially sustainable model in context of WAGGGS strategic aims and international experience Consider one off events in Africa ( ) which continue to invest in MO capacity

Current or recent developments Transfer of Our Cabaña operations to Guias de Mexico Winter sports development at Our Chalet Hostel and conference facilities at Pax Lodge US$100,000 investment in Sangam swimming pool

New WAGGGS CEO Anita Tiessen Deputy Executive Director at UNICEF UK, responsible for the organisation’s public affairs, programmes and communications work Leads the organisation’s efforts to embed children’s rights in the UK, including programmes in schools, health settings and in local government Originally from Canada; now resident in the UK

New WAGGGS CEO Anita Tiessen Led successful campaigns on child exploitation, HIV/AIDS and more recently UNICEF UK’s Children in Danger campaign. Oversees the organisation’s work on the impact of climate change on children. More recently Anita has travelled to El Salvador and Colombia to witness UNICEF’s programmes on child protection and in particular violence against children. Before joining UNICEF UK, she worked at Amnesty International’s global headquarters in London, and previously worked in government and journalism in her native Canada. Anita will start as WAGGGS’ CEO on 13 April 2015.

A global campaign launched in 2010 to mark the Movement’s centenary celebrations Aim was to raise £10million by June 2014 in order to create and develop projects and programmes that will ensure each and every girl has the opportunity she deserves to reach her fullest potential All donations helped support our work with girls and young women worldwide, to develop and deliver innovative non-formal education programs related to building leadership and advocacy skills, and creating opportunities for girls and young women to influence issues that affect them.
