 One in ten Canadians are living in poverty, that's roughly 3.5 million people.

 Every month in Canada over 770,000 people use a food bank, 40% of those people are children.

Canada’s child poverty rate of 15.6% is 3 times higher than that of Sweden, Norway or Finland.

 Having a job will keep a person/family above the poverty line  It is easy to escape generational poverty; you just have to work hard  People who are poor are mostly addicted to drugs/ alcohol

 The simple answer is yes we can. It is estimated that the world can provide everyone in the world with 2,720 kilocalories per person per day. We need to develop better methods to share and distribute food. This will not cure poverty but eliminating food as a problem is a huge step forward.
