Auralex, Conwed, LEED, Fire Ratings Cody Olson, Lindsay Wendt, Jack Streibich

Auralex Room Analysis ●Analyzes rooms based on dimensions, materials, issues, and overall layout of the room ●Suggest treatment options and offer to sell the materials that would improve the room

Auralex

Auralex Results ●Recommended the use of broadband absorption and bass trapping in the corners ●Bass trapping takes the movement of air, the energy, and runs it through the material where some of that energy is released due to friction which causes a loss of amplitude. ●Broadband panels absorb sound to eliminate unwanted reflections

Auralex Results Continued ●There will be a large range of frequencies in the room, so diffusion would be very difficult to focus on ●The sound could originate from anywhere, so it is important to get even distribution of treatment

Conwed ●Branch of Owens Corning that will help design new buildings with acoustic needs. ●They sell materials as well as help with design. ●Essentially the same idea as Auralex

LEED Certification ●Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ●By satisfying certain prerequisites, buildings earn points to achieve different levels of certification ●Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council

LEED Certification ●A third-party review that proves to people involved in your building you have reached your environmental goals. ●LEED certification saves money in the long haul by not having to update materials and methods as the years go.

Fire Rating Class ●The 706 panels we are using have a flame spread of 25, and a smoke developed of 50. ●This is in the Class B ranking. ●The fabric we are covering the panels with is a Class A ●The requirement for small enclosed rooms with sprinklers is Class C

Flame Spread and Smoke Developed ●Flame Spread is the surface burning characteristics of building materials ●Smoke Developed is the concentration of smoke a material emits as it burns.
