METHODOLOGY NOTES Study carried out on behalf of: MARC DORCEL Sample: Sample of 1,101 individuals representative of the French population aged 18 years and over. Within this sample, 579 women aged 18 years and over were interviewed. The representative nature of the sample has been ascertained using the quota method (gender, age, profession of person surveyed) after stratification by region and agglomeration category. Method used for data collection: The interviews were conducted online through a self-administered questionnaire. Due to the intimate and sensitive nature of the subject approached, IFOP opted for a self-administered online method. In fact, this method of data collection gave the respondent the opportunity to talk about herself without running the risk of feeling judged by the interviewer. Guaranteeing complete anonymity to those interviewed. this method therefore enabled people to speak freely who would never have dreamt of bringing up certain subjects face to face with an interviewer or in the presence of a relative (if the interview was taking place in front of a third party). Survey dates: From 7 to 11 September 2012 This document presents the results of a study conducted by IFOP which faithfully respects the scientific and ethical principles of a sample survey. 2
