What is Welding? A fabrication process that joins metal. This is done by melting the work pieces and adding a filler material to form a pool of molten material that cools to become a strong joint. A fabrication process that joins metal. This is done by melting the work pieces and adding a filler material to form a pool of molten material that cools to become a strong joint.

How Does it Work? Welding uses an energy source (gas flame, electric arc, or laser) to heat and melt metals together. This meting causes impurities in the metal which are shielded by various gases to provide a clean weld. Types of Welding Gas Metal Arc Welding (metal inert gas or MIG)- is a semi-automatic process that uses a continuous wire feed as an electrode and an inert or semi-inert gas mixture to protect the weld from contamination.
