You decides what platform to use, be it PowerPoint, CCE Digital Portfolio or just artefacts that you bring along with you. Please bring your own laptop for the session. Lower Sec classrooms will have a school laptop. How you shares?

Your sharing has to cover what you have learnt, how you feel you have progressed in school, what you have achieved holistically and what you wish to achieved in the years ahead. It is also an opportunity for you to present to your parents what life in Hwa Chong has been like for you. The duration of your sharing should be about minutes. What should be achieved from the sharing?

Share the meaningful experiences within the time allocated. Share your proud moments and how you have achieved that. Give credit to people who have helped you achieved. Share the difficult moments and how you have come out of it and emerged stronger, or..still struggling. Thank the people who have given you the support. How detail should you share?

Clarify what you present. Give you encouragement and affirmation. Discuss how to support you. Get to know you better, in school and at home. Listen to you talking about your aspiration and give you their blessings. Help you to see things from other perspective. What are the roles of the teachers & your parents in the SLF?

Frequently Asked Questions

You will make the same presentation with or without your parents witnessing. The teachers will be there to listen to you, give you the support and encouragement. If my parents are not attending, do I still have to make the presentation?

You Form Teacher will discuss with your parents for an alternative time for you to present, and the session will not have time limit. Your DC/ADC may be the co-teacher. What if I am on MC on the day that I am supposed to present?

Find a classmate to swop your slot and & inform your Form Teacher. (Please do so early). If cannot swap with anyone, then inform your 3 rd Language teacher to get excused from 3rd Lang lesson. What if I have 3 rd language that clashes with the SLF?

Choose the language that your parents are comfortable with. We have paired the teachers so that they will be at least one who can speak mandarin well and one speaks English well. It’s the chance to put your CQ skills into practice, by engaging two parties with two different languages at the same time. If my parents cannot understand English, can I present in Mandarin?
