Kindergarten Welcome to

Parents, We would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to you! As with all beginnings, we are sure that you have many questions. Hopefully this will provide some answers. If you have other questions or concerns, you may call us at or us at: We are really looking forward to working with your children this year!

Absence If your child is going to be absent, please call the school at If you do not call, we will call you to ensure your child is at home and not on his/her way to school.

Notes In the event your child’s transportation to or from school will be changing for a day, please send in a note on that day in order to make a smooth transition, and prevent tears.

Mystery Can In order to increase reasoning skills, the children all participate in a mystery can activity. We will demonstrate this on the first day, and instructions will be on the outside of the can. Please make every effort to return the can on the next day, as the children really look forward to guessing it’s contents.

Printing Name If helping your child at home, please have him/her use a capital letter for just the first letter, and small letters for the rest of their name.

Homework We feel very strongly about the value of homework. We feel it is essential that you are made aware of what your child is learning in school, and how well they understand the concepts. Homework is given Monday – Thursday. An effort grade is given for all homework assignments.

Show & Tell We will be assigning one day a week for students to share something that coincides with the letter of the week. These days will be noted in the monthly classroom calendar. We strongly discourage the bringing of toys, dolls, etc., Verbal sharing is always welcome, as are pictures, and drawings.

Birthdays : You may wish to send in a treat for the class, of course, this is not required. Please make sure to follow the district closed container policy.

Class made books: Throughout the year, we will write and publish many class books. These books will circulate so that each child has a chance to take them home.

Superstar of the week: Every child has the opportunity to be the superstar. It is not used as a reward for good behavior, it’s an opportunity for your child to be recognized and to share important people and things in his/her life. When notified, please send in about 15 photos of your child and family. If you are notified at an inconvenient time, please let us know and we will reschedule.

Labeling Please label everything your child brings to school. When sending in money, please label it in a sealed envelope containing your child’s name and the purpose of the money Then place the envelope in the daily folder money pouch.

Thank you for being here today! Your support is greatly appreciated!! Please don’t hesitate to contact us at:
