7 Targeted ELA Tutoring Matters

Baldwin Park USD Study Results 8 Change in CST Scaled Scores by Years in THINK (2008 – 2011) Analyses indicate positive trends in CST Performance in both ELA and MATH in Baldwin Park. When compared to non- participants in the district, THINK participants' CST scores consistently grew at a higher rate over three years of programming in both ELA and Math. As the graphs indicate, there are larger gains seen in Math.

Colton Joint USD Study Results 9 Change in Percent at or above Proficient (2009 – 2011) Analyses indicate positive trends in “percent at or above Proficient” in both ELA and MATH in Colton. Considering ELA, THINK participants' grew in “percent at or above Proficient” at a comparable rate to the overall district. In Math, THINK participants showed a significant positive growth compared to the overall district.

Rialto USD Study Results 10 Change in CST Scaled Scores (2010 – 2011) Analyses indicate positive trends in CST Performance in ELA for elementary students in Rialto. When compared to non- participants in the district, THINK elementary participants' CST scores grew at a higher rate in ELA.
