Creating an Online Portfolio

Why will making an online portfolio help me? Because you will be able to access it from any computer or internet linked device. You will be able to allow others such as tutors, clients or employers to also access it. You will develop skills that are transferable and will help you in your business or study.

Your portfolio will need to have a digital format but you can use skills that you have already or that people around you possess to get started. For example if you are familiar with Microsoft Powerpoint you might use this as a platform for you portfolio.

You need to have a clear idea of what you want your portfolio to do for you. It may be a record that shows the work you have done as well as your understanding of the processes involved. A simple way of achieving this is with text and pictures. Using a digital format allows you to quickly import and modify images from a wide variety of sources.

You can either store you portfolio on your computer and place it on the internet when it is finished for others to view. Or You could use a format such as Google Docs which allows you to add to your Portfolio while it sits online.

You could make up your portfolio or parts of it in Microsoft Powerpoint and the upload it into Google Docs. If you are not an expert in using computers you need to learn more by using online tutorials. You can type questions into the Google search engine. Key words are important.
