BYOD can help students sharpen their 21st Century skills to work towards college and career readiness. Click

BYOD can help to personalize learning for students. Click

I can use my device whenever I want. Click Explanation: BYOD is at the discretion of EACH INDIVIDUAL teacher and NOT determined by the student.

BYOD can help students practice digital citizenship skills. Click

BYOD has been proven to be a way to engage the learner. Click

I can use my device for anything I want, while at school. Click Explanation: if you are not using your device for learning, while in school, you shouldn’t be using it at all.

BYOD can offer a way for students to digitally show what they know. Click

I can use my own WIFI connection, instead of the BYOD network while connecting at school. Click Explanation: We provide free internet access via the BYOD network, which not only saves you on your data plan, but keeps in compliance with Internet security education laws.

Participate in creating a SOP (Standard Operational Procedure) with your teacher and class If your teacher is implementing, get the user agreement form from your teacher. Review it, get it signed and return it to your implementing teacher Be familiar with your teacher’s expectations and/or procedures for BYOD If you do not have Internet access and need to adjust your form, see Mrs. Browning or Mr. Lee Check with your teachers to see if they will/are implementing BYOD Click in the White Area

Laptops Netbooks Cell Phones Tablets Smart phones iPods/iPads eReaders Gaming devices (like Nintendo DSs)

You can find them on our website by following the steps below: Teachers: Click the graphic above to go directly to the site

When a device is brought to school for use in the BYOD program, that device must be connected to the filtered wireless network. (The illustrations below refer to the iPad, however, the process for connecting other devices will be similar) Make sure your wireless is turned on Select the BYOD network The network will be listed with the school’s call letters first. (EHS-BYOD) 1. 2.

When you select this network, it will not ask for a username and password at this point. When accessing the Internet via any browser, the user will be prompted to enter a username and password. That information is the same network logon that the user uses to log on to a district computer. Once the username and password are entered, select Log In

If it’s okay with your teacher, take out your device, connect to the BYOD Network and take our survey by going to our website and following the path below Teachers: Click the graphic above to go directly to the site
