Author’s Voice Voice is the sum of all strategies used by the author to create the illusion that the writer is speaking directly to the reader from the page. Just as you dress differently on different occasions, as a writer you assume different voices in different situations. A distinctive vocabulary might contribute to voice.vocabulary Ultimately, voice is the writer's personal style coming through in the writing. It's as complex and varied as human personality itself. In this particular book, the author is the narrator, although that is not always true.
